Cyclist Suffers Broken Leg in Collision in Thorpe Thewles

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision as a result of which a cyclist suffered a broken leg. 

The collision happened on the A177 at Thorpe Thewles with the junction of Wynyard Road at around 7.30am yesterday, Wednesday 12th July. It involved a Blue Ford Fiest, a blue Nissan Micra and the cyclist.

The driver of the blue Nissan Micra left the scene and officers would ask the driver of the vehicle, or anyone with information as to their identity, to contact them.

The 41-year-old male cyclist was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, where he remains whilst receiving treatment.

Any witnesses to the collision or anyone with information regarding the driver of the blue Nissan Micra, is asked to contact PC Amanda Stokes from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 122826.
