Seven People Arrested in Dawn Raids as Part of Operation Sentinel

Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs as part of a regional operation to crackdown on organised crime.

Seven properties across Cleveland were searched this morning with around £2000 in cash seized; they included 1 property in Redcar, 5 in Stockton and 1 in Middlesbrough. Six men aged between 20 and 30 and one 35-year-old woman were arrested as part of the activity. They all remain in police custody.

The warrants were executed as part of Operation Sentinel, a regional stance against serious and organised crime led in partnership by Cleveland, Durham and Northumbria Police.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Daryll Tomlinson said: “We are committed to disrupting and dismantling networks of organised criminals, who are intent on flooding the streets of Cleveland and beyond with Class A drugs.

“Those arrested in today’s dawn raids are suspected of being involved in organised crime, and investigations continue.

“Today’s activity forms part of Operation Sentinel, which is our regional approach to tackling serious and organised crime. Criminals don’t recognise borders and it’s never been so important than now, that we work together to keep our communities safe from this type of crime.”
