Further arrests made in firearms investigation

A further three people have been arrested in connection with an incident on Monday 5th August in which a firearm was discharged at the front door of a house in Norton, Stockton.

A 21-year-old man, 22-year-old man and 43-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life and they remain in police custody.

Chief Superintendent Alison Jackson from Cleveland Police said: “We have one suspect outstanding at this stage and he will know that we are looking for him. My message to him is hand yourself in because we won’t stop until we have found you. Our activity at addresses across the Stockton area continues today.

“We are taking this incident seriously, it’s not acceptable to discharge a firearm in a public place, and we will ensure those responsible are brought to justice.”

A total of six people have now been arrested as part of the investigation including a 16-year-old boy, and two men aged 19 and 20. These three suspects have been released under investigation.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for information, anyone with a dashcam or private CCTV is being asked to look for footage of a green Kawasaki Ninja motorbike. The rider is said to be wearing a green parka jacket with fur, jeans and wearing a distinctive silver helmet. The bike had no number plates.
